Do you have a callingto counsel others who are hurting? A counseling center, where the truth of Jesus Christ will be applied to the lives of anyone, Christian or non-Christian (regardless of ability to pay), is being developed at Calvary. The counseling staff will consist of nonprofessional men and women who have sensed God's call to develop and utilize their gifts of care, compassion, and encouragement in a counseling ministry to serve others. Extensive training in psychological understanding, relationship building, and biblical counseling will be required and provided by licensed professionals.

The counseling center vision is an extension of the congregational desire for expanded care and compassion ministries developed from Calvary's Charting a Higher Course congregational forums in 2005.  At the core of the ministry will be trained servants of Jesus forming authentic, Christ-centered relationships with struggling individuals, both from the church body and from the community.  Training, slated to begin in September will be 2-4 hours weekly, over a 6-month period, with ongoing training and supervision required.  Upon completion of training, the counseling center will be launched.

Please pray about this exciting new ministry and the core group of counselors God is calling up to begin training.  Stay tuned for further information.  Interested or have questions?  Contact Jeanne Allen, or Pastor Larry Orth at the church.
