In Coffee and Friends, the small group I am in is studying "The Life You Always Wanted" which has so much to do with pseudo-transformation or spirituality. We easily slip into pseudo spirituality because it doesn't hurt as much or require sacrifice/humility. So...then.....God, is in His fatherly love...allows big and little situations/hard times to help us see the beauty of growing in authentic transformation. To quote one statement, "the secret lies not in trying harder, but in training consistently". To me that is being in the word, praying the word, talking to Jesus throughout my day, being honest with Him & others and making a choice to deny my desires and bring my thoughts, attitudes, words under His control. As my daughter, Missy, shared with me...she is checking out her choices, etc. with a question, "How does this affect my heart (for Jesus)".

Pastor Todd..the section of scripture you are preaching on is one of my "life verses"..."that I may gain Christ and be found in Him...I want to know Christ". Looking forward to your teaching. God Bless you! Faye - Faye Wendland

Hi,
I guess it would be interesting to hear about the flesh as the psychological dimension of man as opposed to the spiritual one, and how they overlap, making it sometimes hard to rely solely on God rather than on "peudo-spiritual psychologic tricks" to get us out of harms way...

... if that makes any sense at all! As always thanks for your great work, We really appreciate you as a pastor,
