Wednesday nights are full of activity at Calvary! There is a little something for almost everyone (and there’s not a lot of extra space…) Wednesday is the key family ministry night that strives to invest in the next generation in age-specific and family-friendly ways. With that in mind, we have designed the night with continuity and convenience to help families coordinate busy schedules. Here’s what you can expect on Wednesday nights:
When Awana and youth group are meeting, there is a community meal for anyone who cares to participate. The meal begins at 5:45 in the Fellowship Hall. Suggested donation for the meal is $3 for adults and $2 for small children to help cover the costs. An amazing volunteer team leads the effort to make delicious food most weeks, and we occasionally cater in pizza or sandwiches as well. (And here’s a little tip: you don’t even have to come to other Wednesday night program to come share a meal with us!)
Please note: Children grade 5 and below should be accompanied by an adult during the meal – please do not drop children off at this time. Thank you!
On Wednesdays, we have something for just about everyone:
Awana Clubs serve kids from age 3 through 5th grade. They break into smaller sub-groups by age (Cubbies, Sparks, and T&T clubs) and enjoy game time, Bible story time, verse memorization, and more. Awana runs from 6:30-8:05 (Cubbies ends at 8:00). A parent or other adult must check-in and pick up children on these nights.
For questions or registration information, contact Amy Bowers, Awana Commander, at email@example.com.
Youth group is for students grades 6-12. On Wednesday nights, students will experience age-specific Bible teaching, fun games, grade-specific small group discussions, and lots more. The youth have hang out time from 6:15-6:40 in the gym and begin programming at 6:45 in the youth room. No pre-registration is required, and students do not need a parent to check them in or out.
For questions, please contact John Chaco, Youth Pastor at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Worship Chorale gathers singers grade 9-adults who want to help lead worship through music. You do not need to have any formal musical background or training to join from 6:30-8:15 p.m., September through May.
Childcare is provided on Wednesday night to serve those who are volunteering in some capacity. If you are serving in Awana, youth ministry, or singing in the Worship Chorale and you are in need of childcare on Wednesday evening, please contact Connie Edwards at email@example.com.
*If a family is utilizing childcare, it is necessary that a parent is in the building. Therefore, we are not able to provide childcare for anyone who is not currently serving on a weekly basis. We apologize for any inconvenience.
