We try to get together as a group for work, play, worship and fellowship (make that eating) opportunities as often as we can.  This past year, we have had all of these.

Tree Planting at Camp Victory

Gary Hayden found a supply of about 100 evergreen trees that would be given to Camp Victory at no cost.  The catch was that digging, transporting and planting were up to volunteers.  Oasis (and other volunteers) agreed to help.  We had a hot, half-day of sweaty work and all 100 (or was it 101) trees got planted.

The Passion Play

We took a bus last Easter time to experience the Passion Play at the North Hills Lutheran Church in Arden Hills, MN.  The drama, the hundreds in the cast, the live animals and the inspiring music were wonderful.  The panoramic view of the sanctuary where the play took place was awesome.

Hymn Sing

Some of us still like to sing the hymns and gospel songs that we used to sing every Sunday.  So, in February, we got together at the Byrne Elk Farm for a dinner and an afternoon of singing.  The food was great and the singing even better.

Lanesboro Outing

Dinner and a play were on the agenda in Lanesboro  Wednesday, July 12.  Holly's son-in-law prepared a delicious meal for us at his bakery.  The play was enjoyable as performed by an excellent cast.  One of the main characters certainly presented a good illustration of the futility of life's pursuits without Christ.

Oasis, Who Are We Anyway? PDF Print E-mail

We are a mini-congregation composed of men and women of a wide span of ages. We enjoy each other and we enjoy sharing together on Sunday mornings and during the week. We enjoy our Sunday morning snacks and our time of prayer together. We enjoy studying and discussing God's Word. We enjoy activities away from church and we have a special concern for those who carry the Good News to other parts of our world.

We are known for our teaching ministry. Bible exposition and the study of Biblical topics that can impact our lives are what we concentrate on.  They involve exciting, active discussions that are profitable whether you just sit and listen or participate by asking questions or contributing comments.  We are missions minded as well and frequently have guest speakers who share about how God is working in other cultures.  Our ministry reaches outside our group as we support various community, national and world-wide needs in person or by prayer and/or monetary means.

Here are some of the topics we have discussed recently.

Paul's Missionary Journeys - Travel with Paul!
Paul Peterson has been doing a marvelous job of bringing us along with Paul, Barnabas, Silas, Timothy as they travel!  What adventure as we sang with Paul in prison, shook the dust off our feet and moved on to Athens, where we learned of the unknown God and how Paul presented the Gospel to a pagan world.  Great applications for our day!
