With fall comes the start of a new season of ministry. Many changes are in the air: new programs, a remodeled
facility and the third service to name a few. These changes are due in large part to input given in 2005 from
the Charting a Higher Course (CAHC) congregational survey. CAHC proved to be a very effective way to get
direction from our church family. As your Leadership Board, we continue to refer to it in our decision making.
Recently we reviewed all the recommendations from CAHC and we were encouraged to see how many of our
decisions supported and furthered the directives of CAHC. As leaders we recognize that Calvary is first of
all a church under the headship of Christ, but secondly a congregational form of government. As such, we value
your ideas and input as together we seek to be a church that follows and pleases our Lord.

On July 10, the Leadership Board approved the hiring of Paul Murphy as a consultant to our Capital Campaign Drive. After considering a number of other professional services, it became very clear to us that Paul is the right person for the task. Paul is well known and respected within the body of Calvary having served as Calvary’s interim senior pastor for over a year (January ‘05 to April ‘06). Paul brings a servant’s heart, good leadership, and has several years of fund raising experience. We are excited to take this journey with Paul shepherding the process.

At the May 6 congregational meeting, our church family approved the proposal to remodel our current facility. The vote was 103 yes, 7 no. The support for this project is strong and we trust that we will achieve our overall objectives to extend useful life of our facility and create a warm and inviting environment for visitors and regular attenders. This month we want to give you an idea of what to expect during the remodeling process and the time frames for each project. Realize that dates and details may change as we get more information, but this is what we know at this time.
