Encountering God in Prayer

King David sought the good hand of God in times of need or trouble. David sang, When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, O Lord, I shall seek” Do not hide Your face from me, Do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; Do not abandon me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation! (Ps 27:8-9). After God had removed fleshly Saul, He raised up David to be Israel’s king, concerning whom God testified, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will (Acts 13:22). Doing God’s will was a joyful byproduct of David’s relentless pursuit of God. God is prompting the hearts of a growing number of His Calvary family to pursue Him together in informal worship and prayer.

Community In Prayer

We all pray!!  Why not do it together??

hands

As evangelical churches in Rochester, we are seeking the Lord for His wisdom, guidance, and direction. We have a vision to pray together for our city, street by street, block by block, every day during the week of the National Day of Prayer. This vision to pray together for our community and its people from April 27 – May 3 involves the following ministry strategy:

Goal: To pray cooperatively as churches for the entire city of Rochester.

  • Target: To bless in prayer every person, dwelling, business, school, and park in all areas of our community.
  • Objective: To connect the people of God with our local community through prayer, petition, and intercession.
  • Task: To involve believers and Rochester churches in the active participation and completion of this citywide endeavor.

On Thursday, May 1, Calvary served as host church to the citywide gathering for the National Day of Prayer.  Thanks for filling the auditorium with prayer and praise!  May the spirit and pracitice of intercession mark us all year!

Pray without ceasing!  (1 Thes. 5:17)
