...it’s amazing what Christians can do together in a single day!

By Larry Orth, Pastor of Care & Community Outreach

Last year, nearly 1800 Christians worked together to serve our city in a single day. This multiple church event is designed to show the love of Jesus all over Rochester.   cf08goal

Think of CareFest as a one-day mission trip for the whole church family. For reasons of safety and supervision, we recommend that children be at least age eight to participate. Beyond the schools and parks, this year’s focus is again on serving the needy.

Our desire through CareFest is to build bridges of influence over which we can eventually share the Good News of Jesus with words. People trust the words of a caring presence.

We also seek to facilitate a mindset or lifestyle of humble service to Christ’s glory as believers, yearround model the life-changing power of a relationship with Jesus. Like physical exercise, service to one another and to those outside of Christ, done in the right spirit, contributes to the health and vitality of our body and those we serve, and it makes us more spiritually fit to do the work of evangelism.

After two successful years, our greatest threat in 2008 is complacency: thinking that our planning and strength are all we need for a successful event… More than ever, we need to humbly seek God’s wisdom, power, and favor. Please pray regularly for Cacf08dayreFest 2008!
