Hi Gang!

Just wanted to let you all know that First Place doors are wide open for the summer!

The First Place program has been completely revamped and is much more user friendly and fun to do! We will be delving into the new basics in late June, but at this point we aren't requiring anyone to buy the starter kit until our Fall session.

We will also be doing a different Bible study for the summer months along WITH the First Place Program. The book we'll be studying throughout the entire summer is called "The Life You've Always Wanted" By John Ortberg (the same guy who wrote, "If you Want to Walk on Water, You Have To Get Out of The Boat"). Cost for the book with a church discount will be about $11.

And we'll do a chapter a week through the summer. Some of the topics include:

• The Practice of Slowing
• The Practice of Celebration
• Receiving Guidance from The Holy Spirit
• The Practice of Secrecy
• The Practice of the Reflection on Scripture
• Developing Your Own "Rule of Life"

The nice part about this is if you have to miss a week here and there, you just keep doing the study. I think you will be amazed how much you will grow from what this book has to offer (I'm in the process of doing it now).

We start a new book next week, and officially start the summer session on June 5th (that's when you have to have the first chapter read). First Place will begin meeting in the Fireside room at CEFC starting May 29th at 9:30am on Thursday mornings.
