Upward Basketball

The rules are simple and we need several volunteers.  If you can jog up and down court, blow a whistle, and you know a few basics to basketball,  you could help.  Upward Basketball runs Saturdays in January and February.  We will train!  Let Pastor Dave know if you are willing.

We offer a basketball league to children in the First through Eighth Grades.  We have eight different leagues, one for boys and one for girls in each of four different age levels. 

Upward Basketball™ an evangelistic sports ministry dedicated to promoting community outreach, developing volunteer leadership in your church, and sharing the love of Christ with children and their families.  Rochester’s Upward Basketball™ program is a community effort involving several area evangelical churches.

Students going into Upward Basketball went through evaluations in mid-October.  From this evaluation, we matched children up to teams.  During the season in January and February, children will attend one practice and one game each week, each running approximately one hour long.

Specifically designed for First through Seventh Grade boys and girls, Upward Basketball™ seeks to develop the self-esteem of each participant, while teaching sportsmanship, team-work, character, athletic skills, and respect for authority in every situation.
