Collecting Cellphones and Inkjet Cartridges for DR 2007

On the heels of an extremely successful bake sale (our thanks to the mini-congregations for their support in providing goods for sale and to everyone for purchasing - we sold out!), the next DR 2007 fund raiser is now being announced.  This fund raiser is different in that we're not asking for money - we're asking for the old cellphones and used inkjet cartridges that are cluttering up your home.

Beginning Sunday February 18th there will be two boxes near the Dominican Republic display area in the narthex.  These boxes will be clearly labeled for donations of either cellphones or inkjet cartridges.  The cellphones should be in working condition.  If you have the charger, that may be included as well.  These items will be sent in by the DR 2007 team in exchange for funds from companies that recycle or redistribute them.

Funds raised through team events such as the bake sale and this collection will be used for  team expenses such as in-country transportation, housing, and ministry supplies.  Individual team members are also responsible for raising $900 per person in support.  This covers airfare plus contributes towards other group expenses.  Your support of the DR 2007 short-term mission trip is appreciated!
