IN HIS NAME 

"Distributing Food to those in Need in the Name of Jesus Christ"

In His Name is a ministry of TEAM ROCHESTER. On the fourth Saturday of each month, In His Name distributes large boxes of food to those in need. This ministry takes advantage of good quality surplus food, including produce, dairy products, meat, cereals, etc to meet the needs of those who run short of food at the end of the month.  The large boxes of food distibuted  by IN HIS NAME are worth about $75 at a cost of only $10 per box.  Churches from the Rochester area cooperate together to supply the funding, pack the food, and distribute it to those in need.

IN HIS NAME provides physical and spiritual help to those in need.  In addition to food, Bibles are given out at the distribution center.  Scripture is included in each box of food, and prayer can be offered to those receiving help.  Churches can add their own literature to each box.

  "If anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones . . . I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward." Matthew 10:42   

  The ministry of IN HIS NAME  touches Rochester in the following ways:

• 1435 boxes distributed in 2006- $108,000 worth of food

• Over 20 different churches participate

• 600 - 700  people are reached each month - approximately 50% unchurched

• Recipients are from every quadrant of Rochester, and out into Olmsted County

• Camp Victory, Casa de Paz, and Ironwood Springs, have been provided a variety of bulk food items

• Hundreds of Bibles and New Testament Scriptures are distributed in at least three different languages.  

How can You Help?

Become a mercy minister: find people in need and bring them food and hope.

Help pack or distribute food.

Offer to organize your church's participation.

Donate funds.

Distribution is at Meadow Park Church of Christ. Set up and packing begin at 9 a.m. Volunteers assemble boxes, bag produce, disperse food items, collect trash, and transport items to and from vehicles. There are plenty of ways to be involved.
