Dear friends,
The week of the Passion, otherwise known as Holy Week, begins this weekend with the remembrance of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem (Palm Sunday). We then make our way through the final week of Jesus' life on earth as He focuses His attention on the cross. The cross is what every human being must come to grips with. Jesus had to die on the cross to satisfy the wrath of a holy God. God's requirement of payment for our sin is paid in full through Jesus' righteousness and the perfect sacrifice of His sinless life. Praise His name for doing for us what we could not do for ourselves. Our only need is to respond to the free offer of His life for our lives. Have you confessed your sinfulness and repented by turning to Jesus Christ and receiving Him into your life? Have you believed the good news of the gospel? If not, what better time to come to Him for salvation than Holy Week. Invite Him into your life today!
I was 14 years old when I surrendered my life to Jesus and made Him the Savior and Lordof my life. I was forever changed in that moment. I cannnot imagine where I would be, what I would be doing and where I would be headed were it not for the saving and transforming grace of Jesus Christ! I will praise His name for all of eternity. I love Jesus and love walking with Him in a daily relationship.
Holy Week does not end at the cross. The verification that Jesus is who He said He was comes in His bodily resurrection from the dead. The supernatural resurrection of Jesus is also at the center of Christianity. Without it we can only believe that Jesus was the biggest liar ever to walk on planet earth. But no, He is alive! Over 500 witnesses verified that He had indeed been raised from the dead. He is risen! He is risen indeed!
Let's praise and worship Him each and every day and then gather together to do the same in our corporate places of worship during this next week.
