Dominican
Republic
Mission Trip 2007
In 1991, Calvary established a relationship with Iglesia Nueva Vida or New
Life Church located in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic. This church has planted many churches in the surrounding
communities of Jarabacoa. Since 1991,
Calvary has sent eight teams to help our Dominican brothers and sisters. This summer, June 23-July 7, a group of 46
adults and teens will be traveling to the DR to minister again with Iglesia
Nueva Vida.
Our trip will involve four different ministry opportunities.
Construction: We
hope to complete the small church that we started in Boma in 2005. Plus, there are other jobs at the various
church plants.
Children’s Bible Clubs: We will be leading Bible clubs in four different locations.
Leadership training:
Pastor Dave Genberg will lead six sessions for the Dominican church
leaders.
Gifts of Love:
Providing for the needs of our brothers and sisters. In March, David Henry, Roy MaKosky and
Pastor Todd Olson traveled to the DR.
While they were there, they asked what items we could collect and bring
back to help in their ministries. These
are listed on the back side of this flyer.
Over the last eight trips, Calvary has sent almost
175 different adults and teenagers to the DR.
With each trip, the church has lived out Acts 2:44-45.
All
the believers were together and had everything in
common. Selling their possessions and
goods, they
gave to anyone as he had need. (Acts 2:44-45)
Each member of the team will pack one large
suitcase full of items to give to our Dominican brothers and sisters. We invite you to help us again as we collect
items for the DR.
Would you consider helping us as we go to the
DR? You can help by:
Praying for us as we prepare
and go on this trip.
Donating some of the items
listed on the back of this flyer.
Donating money to help us
reach our goal of $65,000.
