The 2007 Dominican Republic mission’s trip is rapidly coming upon us. We were commissioned at the Sunday services yesterday. It’s always humbling and yet exciting to represent Calvary in this mission to honor God in these trips. This Wednesday the team will have its final pre trip meeting. Last minute details about the trip, items to remember about the local DR customs and a general mission’s mindset reminder will be discussed. We will also be loading the donations that we will be taking with us to help the people of Jarabacoa and the surrounding towns. I think the whole team is still scrambling to get themselves prepared, but ready or not we meet at the church at 3:45 am to load the bus that will take us to the Twin Cities where we catch our flight to Miami and then on to Santiago in the Dominican Republic. We have a team goal of having a different team member write a blog entry every day. We don’t know if we will be able to get them posted daily because of the disruptions in internet connections that seem to occur on a regular basis, but keep checking to follow what is happening with your DR07 team. We are all very appreciative of all your wonderful support. Your prayers will make the difference for our Lord’s work. Continue to pray for the hearts of those we will be contact with, for the Lord’s provision to cover for our weaknesses. Also pray that mighty things will happen and that we all would be amazed at what God will do. Pray for safe travel for everyone (including David, Jen and Chet who leave on Wednesday morning) and for the in country travel logistics. Lastly pray for a lasting impact on each team member’s heart for the lost and for each team members role in God’s plan.
