Larry joined the staff of Calvary in 1997. He has degrees from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, Liberty University, Luther Rice Seminary, and Trinity International University (TEDS); he considers lifelong learning--often through the people and trials in our lives--a paramount ingredient in the health of every disciple of Jesus. Prior to that, he worked as the CFO for the Bureau of Prisons at the Rochester Facility. Larry’s main jobs are caring for the Calvary congregation, teaching and leading adult ministries (Men’s, Womens, Seniors), and local outreach alongside Calvary’s many local ministry partners. Larry and Dianne have four children — Macai, Renee, Ben, and Becca — and 4 grandchildren — Judah, Theo, Cedar, and Karis.
Person Who Impacted You the Most
While in college, my late wife Tammy Rendon-Orth (1963-2001) introduced me to Jesus, forever changing me. She taught me much about how to live and how to die well. Another key influence in my life and ministry is Bob Dow, pastor of Liberty Bible Church, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Bob worked as a corporate pilot while preaching the Scriptures each week for decades. He is a living model of diligent, faithful, quality ministry of the Word to the flock over the long haul.
If you continue in My word, then you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free....So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed....The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. ~Jesus (John 8:31-32, 36; 10:10)
Larry took martial arts and piano lessons at the same time (in his 20’s)
