At Calvary, we see every kid as God’s workmanship, and we value kids because they are made in the image of God. We also believe that kids at every phase of life need to be shown the love of God through others. That’s why we think that every week is an amazing opportunity to serve kids and their families by helping to root them in the truth of scripture and in the reality that God loves them.
We employ a methodology of ministry that we call Family Equipping. What does that mean? It means that we believe that parents are called to be the primary spiritual influences on their children AND that it is the job of the church to partner with parents to make disciples of our littlest worshippers. Within this framework, we believe that age-specific programming is valuable and helpful, but we will always be working to turn kids and families back to one another. When it comes to kids, we believe the most effective strategy of discipleship is to equip and empower their parents to lead them. We aspire to influence the influencers – their parents. And, we strive to partner with parents through intergenerational worship opportunities, introducing parents to other Jesus-loving adults who also love their kids, and more.
