Discussion Questions:

1) What is the most dangerous situation you have been rescued out of?
How did it feel to be rescued?

2) How much of your identity comes from where you are?
Do you consider yourself a Minnesotan?
Do you get your identity from your politics?
How important to your identity is being an American?

3) Are you ever afraid that your faith isn’t relevant to the cultural context around you?
Are you concerned that the way the Christian faith is articulated by this church, or by the Church in general, isn’t culturally relevant?
If you are concerned about that, what do you do about it?

4) Are you ever afraid that you are slowly making one compromise after another until your life is indistinguishable from the lives of those who do not walk with Christ?
Are you concerned about this church or the Church making too many compromises with the surrounding culture?
If so, what do you do about this concern?

5) How rooted is your identity in who Jesus says you are?
Is there anything keeping you from entering into His identity for you?

6) What moral compromises might you have made to ease the tension with the world around you?
What do you believe now that you didn’t five years ago?
Have you changed your mind as the result of cultural pressure?

7) What can you do to remind yourself that you are just passing through this world?

8) What single step of obedience is God calling you to?
Who is going to hold you accountable?
